Handwriting and sketches cover the walls of most small industrial workshops with instructions, warnings, explanations, architectural plans, and jokes.
The Museum of Workshop Graffiti and Handwritten Signs was created to preserve these artifacts of small industry and workers' culture.
The Museum was created by Julia Campbell-Such, a Toronto woodworker, in 2015. Much of the current collection consists of photographs she took in shops in Toronto's west end. The goal of the museum is to expand the collection to include photographs of workshop graffiti and handwritten signs from all over the world, and to include artifacts from a variety of industries.
